About this visa:
This is the temporary visa allows you to stay in Australia for up to 12 months depend on your purpose of visit and your personal circumstances. To grant this visa you must be a genuine visitor and have a purpose only to visit Australia or attend a function / ceremony/ special occasion of family/ friends. This visa can be granted up to 12 months with single entry or multiple travel entry. You cannot work on this visa as this visa is for the purpose of visitor. If you want to work in Australia you have to get other kind of Work Visa or GSM visa. If you think you might need to extend this visa in Australia, and then just try to get the visa for that time of period during the first application. The reason for this is the condition may be imposing on your first visitor visa of "No Further Stay". With this condition, it is not easy to extend this visa, once you will be land in Australia.
Minimum eligibility to apply this visa:
- You must have genuine intention to visit Australia or attend Ceremony/function /special occasion with friend and family.
- You must be financially sound or can be sponsored by relative.
- You must have return incentive. (I.e. properties, employment, family, Emotional attachment etc.)
- If you are over the age of 70 you must have to provide health insurance to cover your visit in Australia.
What does this visa allows you to do?
This is a tourist visa for the purpose to promote tourism of Australia, so you can travel in any part of Australia and attend any event of Australia during your visa period.
If you wish to extend your visa, then you can apply for an extension of Tourist visa if you have not a condition of "No Further Stay"
You can do Volunteer work during your stay in Australia, but it does not attract any remuneration.
Note: It is acceptable, under the conditions of the Tourist visa, to receive meals, accommodation and/ or reimbursement of out-of-pocket living expenses in return for voluntary work.
