This visa allows you to settle in Australia if you are an overseas student or holder of certain temporary visa and have a nominated occupation in need of Australia (
SOL List) and have accepted English language Skills. This visa is for you if you are not able to pass the point test (120 point) of Skilled Independent (Migrant) Visa (Subclass 175).
You need to be sponsored by
eligible relative living in Australia.
OR
Need to get a Nomination from the participating State/ Territory Government.
To get this visa you must get 100 points. You can get these points with your skill, age, English language ability, work experience, Community Language ability, Nomination of participating State/ Territory Government Agency and few other options.
This visa allows you, your spouse or interdependent partner and any dependant included in your visa application to live as permanent residents in Australia.
Australian permanent residents can:
- Live and work in Australia on a permanent basis.
- Study in Australia at school or university ( No need to pay international student fees and no 20 hour work limitation)
- Receive subsidized healthcare through Medicare and PBS
- Access certain social security payments (subject to waiting periods)
